Where to Start?
Thank you for visiting the Lorian Center for Incarnational Spirituality Self-Directed Study program.
Each of these Study Modules (or living texts) is self contained and complete unto itself. All include access to basic incarnational exercises (text and audio) and a talk by David Spangler called “Grail Space”. Each Module includes written, video, graphic and audio presentations for a rich and rewarding experience. They are designed to be a whole experience and do not require other material to be understood.
Most of the modules have developed out of actual classes and workshops. There is a natural sequence to the presentations which makes them easy to follow and digest. (Depending on your interest you can begin first with the video for an overview or read the text to understand a step by step integration of ideas and exercises.) In order to get the most out of your experience we suggest you spend 7-10 hours per week to read, do the exercises and journal around your work. Overall time spent with each module depends on your interest and rhythms. Your access to the site is good for up to 3 months. All materials are copyrighted and may not be reprinted for sale or distribution.
All of the Self-Directed Study Modules fit into the broader field of inspiration, ideas, exercises, practices and research that we call the Incarnational Way. As such each Module can be thought of as a fractal (a self similar representation) of this evolving body of knowledge. For instance the Manifestation module contains many of the core ideas of Incarnational Spirituality which are explored in layouts, concepts and meditations formulated around the use of a 55 card deck and manual. The video offered here by David Spangler describes this “Incarnational Field” in greater depth.
For those interested in a comprehensive overview, a good place to start might be “The Incarnational Way.” A favorite for many exploring their personal path is “The Call”. Dorothy Maclean’s material offer an inspirational view of cooperation between humanity and nature and practical exercises to heighten one’s attunement to the God within. Clicking on the “go” button will take you to a home page describing all that is included in each module.
It is also true that there are sequences of modules that might be helpful if one were interested in studying this material over time in greater depth.
